Jesus taught… “the harvest truly is plentiful but the labourers are few” (Matt 9:37). Our desire is to see God’s people raised, equipped and commissioned for servant ministry. The “Great Commission” is simple, “Go and make disciples of all nations” and we believe we have a responsibility to raise, train and release people, called of God, into ministry and leadership.

Character Development: Ministry flows more from who we are rather than what we know, so becoming an effective minister requires more than understanding biblical doctrine and being confident enough to preach a message. God’s aim for all His people is that we become like Him, embodying His very nature in the world, full of the Holy Spirit.

Thrive School of Ministry is committed to teaching biblical truths with a strong emphasis on personal character development, demonstrating the Kingdom of God and walking in the nature of Christ. In addition we provide practical opportunities to serve God and develop valuable ministry experience.

Mentoring: Each student will be given a personal mentor to help them process what they are learning. Gaining the benefit of having a single point of contact.

Written Assignments: The course will involve written assignments, although there will not be a huge emphasis on the quality of writing. The main purpose of assignment writing is simply to aid the process of learning.

Course Content

Doctrine & Biblical Truth: A large proportion of the Ministry School timetable will be spent establishing students in doctrine and biblical truth, covering content from the most basic fundamentals to more in-depth study.

Living in the Kingdom: It’s not enough to know about biblical truth, we must learn to live and experience what we see in scripture. That is why an equal portion of time will be given to practicing the presence of God and exercising the privileges of prayer, worship and personal Bible study. Students will be encouraged to discover and embody the nature of Christ through developing their personal relationship with Him.

Serving in Practical Ministry: Opportunities will be created for students to exercise what they are learning through ministry opportunities.

Prayer: As part of the main curriculum, personal and corporate prayer will play a primary role, developing the ability to daily encounter the manifest presence of God. Learning to hear His voice and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit as part of everyday life.

Speakers: A large pool of high calibre national and international preachers and teachers from across the UK will be used throughout the duration of the course, with international ministers Dave and Clare Cleave providing resident teaching and day to day mentoring.

Course Fees: Thrive School of Ministry will run for the duration of three months, with the course fees amounting to just £300. (The fees cover all food and refreshments during official ministry school hours. If you need help or assistance with fees, please don’t hesitate to talk to us.)

School Timetable: Standard study days are Mon, Tues, Wed, Friday, beginning at 9.30am and finishing at 2.45pm. Students will be expected to be involved in some evening ministry and some Saturdays. Attending and serving during church services will also be part of the school commitment.

Accommodation: Finding accommodation is the responsibility of the student, although support and direction can be provided through the church office.
