Our Culture

Family
Families have been at the very core of society since the beginning of time and that’s no surprise since they were God’s idea! As the church gathers together we are like a large inclusive family, everyone is welcome regardless of background, race or colour. Like any family our role is to support one another and help those we can, fulfilling Jesus commandment to “love our neighbour as ourselves”.

Disciples
As part of his final statement to his followers Jesus said, “Go and make disciples…” The word disciples means apprentice or student and so we at South Chard Church are committed to always being students of Jesus and His teaching, growing in the knowledge of God and becoming more like Him in the way we live our lives.

Gospel Carriers
Jesus’ disciples couldn’t contain themselves. They heard, they believed then they told everybody. When we are enjoying God’s goodness it is natural to want to talk about Him. Your best news should always be on the tip of your tongue; telling others about the person who has changed your life. We at South Chard are committed to sharing our joy and Good News with others. We don’t want to stifle the best message ever known to humanity or miss out on any opportunity to tell the world about Jesus.
