Church

We believe church is more than just attending a meeting on a Sunday morning. Church is really about normal people loving God and at the same time enjoying the lives that He has given us!

S outh Chard Church is a community of people of all ages and backgrounds who love God whilst living normal lives like everybody else. So at South Chard you will find all sorts of activities that you’d expect – from Church Services and Small Groups to Parents and Toddlers – and others that might surprise you, like our annual Big Bonfire and Big BBQ.

Naturally our main focus is to get together on a Sunday morning at 11am and worship God.  Our main Sunday services are fun and informal, a gathering of people who love God and each other; we try to ensure there’s a genuine welcome and warmth for everyone. There’s no dress code – we want you to feel relaxed – and there is something for all ages; the under fives have their own group, Little Acorns, and the older children leave the service at 11.30 for Sunday school.

Sunday School caters for Primary School age children, 5-11. It runs for an hour from 11.30 am and there is teaching, crafts, games, drinks and biscuits. It is free of charge and runs all year round. There is also a group for those aged 11 and over. It’s a form of chilled church, with hot drinks and discussions on the Bible and life-issues.

There is always something on offer following the service for those who want to spend time and chat; either refreshments and cake or a simple lunch served in the Family Centre behind the main church building.  (There is no charge for either – but a donation is always welcome).

You’ll find an ever expanding variety of programmes, events and activities on this site so let me encourage you to keep checking for up-dated information. Another way to keep up-to-date with our activities is to subscribe to our “eNewsletter” which you can do by submitting your email address on the “Home” page or at the bottom of this page.

Feel free to browse around the site and see if you find anything you might like to come along to.
