September Bulletin

Lots of news and updates in this months bulletin, including all the news from the summer’s activities: Congratulations, Impartations, Worship, Prayer & Marcus & Clare!

Action Packed Summer
So much has happened over the duration of August, it’s difficult to know where to begin. The Big BBQ at Whitney Farm was great fun for all the church family – beautiful burgers, kids swimming in the pool, great weather and lots of happy smiling faces! Well done to all of you who invited your friends along and a big thank you to Dan, Sarah and their team for all the hard work they put in to make it such a wonderful experience.

With our building renovation well under way, the roof insulation began in the church and we are happy to say it is looking great and is very near completion. Just a few places in the balcony to be done and that will be another job to strike off the slowly depleting list.

We also enjoyed two wonderful Brunch and Worship meetings in the family centre, owing a huge thank you to Jackie for some great food to accompany our spiritual food. It was really good to hear testimonies from members of our church family such as Will, Lucy, Anna, Andy and Faith.

Welcome to the Family
We would like to offer a very warm welcome to Andy, Lou, Chloe, Charlie, Blaine, Mia and Lilly who have all moved from Essex to start a new life in the country, after our precious Lord organised some very special miracles from them to be here.

In addition we would like to welcome Richard and Caroline who have moved to Seaton and are very soon to be married! Do hold them in prayer as they begin married life together!

Prayer & Fasting
Today is the start of our 21 days of prayer and fasting, which is why we will not be having any lunches for the next two Sundays! I’m sure you will be happy to hear that tea and coffee will be available as usual! Some practical notes regarding our prayer and fasting period, please feel free to get involved to the level you are personally able. You may feel able to fast a day or two, just do what you can. Our prayer meeting will run as usual on Monday evenings and we are asking as many of you as possible to come along, even if you haven’t been able to fast. Better to eat and pray than eat and sit at home watching tv!!!

Ministry School
Thrive School of Ministry is soon to begin. The three month intensive program starts on Monday 19th September and we are pleased to announce that several students have already booked their place. If you feel drawn to join them, you can find out more about the school on the church website at www.southchard.org.

Whilst talking about the School of Ministry, it’s only right that we offer a huge welcome to Dave & Clare Cleave who have parked their caravan with Keith & Bridget at Spillers Farm, and will be serving us by overseeing the School of Ministry, taking care of the students day to day needs.

Keith Gerner – Impartation Sunday
On the closing day of our 21 days of prayer and fasting, we will be hosting another “Impartation Sunday”, praying for all those who would like to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit. We will have special guest and international minister Keith Gerner with us. Keith is now 80 years old and was part of South Chard Church at its inception in the 1950’s. He conducted a 40 day fast, joining Uncle Sid in prayer before the start of the revival. It’s a real honour for us to welcome Keith and his wife Elsie to minister to us. They will also be sharing with the ministry school students during their visit.

Evening of Praise & Worship
Following the success of our previous two evenings of Praise and Worship, we will be holding our third evening on Saturday 24th September, the 20th day of our time of prayer and fasting. We are again expecting to focus our hearts and minds on giving praise to our wonderful God, simply because He is God. No agenda, no program, no plan, our only aim… to offer praise to our God.

Congratulations
Will and Sadie had a wonderful wedding at the Gateway, the weather was perfect and as we heard in Will’s testimony, God took all the nerves away. Well done Will and Sadie!

Marcus & Clare’s Big Day!
This coming Saturday (10th September) our very own Marcus and Clare will be making a covenant commitment of marriage to one another. They have been such a tremendous blessing to us since they arrived and we feel blessed to be part of this important day. Do pray for them as they join together as a new family with Will, Alex and Joe.
