I WILL FILL THIS HOUSE WITH GLORY!
We were spoiled in November church! We had so many great speakers and some wonderful meetings. We started the month with Marcus showing us what he’s already learned in the Ministry School by leading us through a message about forgiveness and strongholds. He reminded us that fear and rejection are massive strongholds that can keep us in isolation. We need to realise that these things were nailed to the cross so that we can now walk in the freedom that Christ purchased for us by His death.
The following week we were very blessed by a visit from Lars and Inger, Marita and Seth and Grunilla from Sweden. Seth paid a moving tribute to Pam Greenwood through a wonderful prophetic song that he played on his saxophone and by talking about the meetings led by Pam and Harry Greenwood that he attended as a child, and could still remember clearly today. Lars gave a glorious message to the church from Haggai which he felt was very appropriate for South Chard today. In verse 3 of Chapter 2 the prophet asks, “Who of you is left who saw this house in its former glory?” At the end of 2011 there are not many members of the congregation who remember the original glory days of South Chard. Lars said that he felt there will be a new anointing on the church and a couple of other verses in Haggai 2 were very appropriate. Verse 6 says, “I will fill this house with glory” and verse 9, “The glory of the latter house shall be greater than of the former.”
It has certainly seemed that the glory days are returning to South Chard. Robert Maasbach returned to South Chard and the West Country late in November for a week of meetings in local churches. Starting with South Chard on Sunday 20th we were treated to some fabulous worship led by Gill and Mikey and the band and more of Robert’s wonderful messages about keeping ourselves overflowing with the Holy Spirit and fully immersed in God’s love. Robert went from us to Axminster Christian Fellowship, Seaton’s Crossroad Christian Fellowship, Bridgewater Community Church and King’s Church in Wellington and those of us who attended more than one service really soaked up God’s love through Robert’s message. The School of Ministry students were particularly spoiled by having Robert with them for most of that week. In the middle of that week around 30 local pastors were invited to a lunch with Robert prepared by the Ministry School students. South Chard pulled out the stops for this lunch and practised hospitality for all it’s worth! Feedback from some of the guests has been incredibly positive with many praising the excellent food, table layout and atmosphere.
To round off a fantastic month, Jonathan Conrathe spoke at a Sunday evening service on 27th November before spending a day with the School of Ministry students. His testimonies of miraculous healings and other miracles were an inspiration to us all and the meeting was quite an amazing experience. The worship was again particularly special – loud and free – and overwhelmingly joyous. Nobody wanted to leave at the end of the service, nobody wanted to go home, even when Luke (who was lost for words) told us that the meeting was officially over, we all just carried on praising God, singing and clapping and dancing!
